Simply Show Up

I keep stumbling over the phrase "if you would simply show up".

Show up - fascinating - show up. Fascinating as the thing that we all know some where subconsciously that we could do and yet we choose not to do it. I choose not to show up. And then with the lack of it, there is guilt, feeling of inadequacies and not being enough. Not being enough for myself and not being enough for my friends and for the people that surround me. People who expect me to show up.

See it is exciting when you think about it. When some one asks you "did you show up?" or says " you did not show up" - it engulfs a much larger issue. It is like, you did not need to do anything. There was no preparatory work that was being demanded or expected of you. You were not planned to bring anything. You have nothing to do with the feast or the ceremony or the function. You simply needed to show up. Passive it may seem but essentially action.

Then some one says, "dont worry about anything, just show up". No recrimination or rebuke or reproach. It is like you have an inherent energy, the spark of power that turns a dull event into a magnificent affair. By showing up, ' you let your light shine and in so doing, allow others to let their lights shine'. Clearly related to the third lesson of the crucifixion " it is done!". Every thing that needs to be in place for your to claim your heirdom in the universe/Gods place is done. All you have to do is show up.

Show up. Present and presence. Passive yet active. Dull yet potentive (not sure that is a word) - like grasping and being part of a larger energy conduction unit. Show up and the energy will flow. You are the missing link.

In life some times i do not show up in my life. It is not about timing, strategy, politicising or any of that. Simply screaming absence of self from the self. How would my world transform if i showed up in my life. Simply show up!

This is truly sweet and supportive to stop the gremlins in my head - they are all off to a symposium to handle this conversation!

Oh, i just thought. Nothing just happens. caveat, simply show up!
